There are four categories that determine EV charging level. Voltage typically range from 120 volts single phase all the way up to 480 volt triple phase (DC Fast Charging), then there are amperage which range from 12 amps to 125 amps, charge load which range from 1.4 kW to 90 kW, and lastly charge time, which ranges from 3 miles per hour to 80% charge in 30 minutes (DC Fast Charging)
Level 1 -120 volt, 1-phase AC Charging, 12-16 amps, 1.4 to 1.9 kW charging load, 3-5 miles of range per hour charging time, 2 cents to 6 cents price per mile
level 2 - 208v or 240 v 1phase AC, 12-80 amps (typically 32 amps), 2.5 to 19.2 KW (typically 7 KW), 10-20 miles or range per hour, 2 cents -6 cents per mile
level 3 (DC Fast Charge) - 208v or 480v 3 phase AC Charging, 125 amps (typically 60 amps), <90 KW (typically 50 kW),80% Charge in 20-30 minutes, 12 cents - 25 cents per mile
